Welcome to Paul Robinson's talk page.

Note that material earlier than April 2013, August 2014 November 2017 May 2019 Dec 2021 Jan 2023 has been archived to the appropriate page shown on the tabs above. (When I did this I originally moved everything for 2013 to /11 (what is now /2013); this confuses 'bots that check pages for messages they post this month; they don't know they've posted a message (because it's archived) and post it again. So generally I won't archive pages less than at least 2-3 months old, and probably more like six months.)

The purpose in moving my original user talk page was to allow new comments to come up first, and I could notice it faster than added comments. As I read comments, I'll move them to that page. Be sure you put a title in your item so I can know what it's generally about.

Currently this is through 2021 to protect against bots that may repost if a previous posting is missing. After March 2023 the items can be moved and this paragraph deleted.

If you want to add something to the subject, please use the same title so I know what it's related to. Also, sign your entry with --~~~~ so I can send you a response if you want one.

Thanks for your contributions to Coast Community College District. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 02:51, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Rfc1394,

Some how you ended up with an article under one page title and a talk page under a different page title. Could you please fix this so that the article and talk page have the same article page title? I'd fix it but I'm not familiar with the subject and I don't know which one is the correct title. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 06:46, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

@SunDawn: Hello. I made the change to the page on Area code 724 because the overlay of 878 shared with 412 was confusing, and confused me. Essentially, the entire southwest corner of Pennsylvania is located in area code 878. Additionally, except for a part in the center, the area is also served by area code 724. In the center, area code 412 serves the area as well as 878. I wanted to make this clear. I'm also updating the map to add additional area codes in neighboring states.

File source problem with File:VA antique sample lic plates.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:VA antique sample lic plates.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Notice

The article SAM 123 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article has been tagged as unsourced for over a decade - I did a Google search and the subject does not seem to be notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, just a friendly heads up... the box for the 215 area code and its overlays, 265 should read as 267. Thanks for all you do! - MikeM2011 (talk) 13:55, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to thank you for telling me the area code map for area codes 301/240 was in error because I had recorded Pennsylvania area code 267 as 265. First thing I did was check the definitive official source, NANPA.COM and sure enough, you're right. I'm sure you understand I'm not going to take something from a source I've never heard from before as correct, however, if you had not given me the heads-up in the first place I might never have noticed the error. So I definitely appreciate that. Also, this meant the map for area code 410 is also wrong, since both use the exact same initial map, they just have the color of that region changed, i.e. the map for area code 301 has that region red and the rest of Maryland blue, and the reverse for area code 410. Then I notice the map shown on the page for Area code 410 is wrong; it's using the map for area code 301 instead of the map for area code 410. So that is another error I'm able to fix. So that's taken care of. Next, I need to check the maps for Pennsylvania to see if they have the same area. It's people like you who keep the quality of the encyclopedia high as this allows things to be fixed.
I do appreciate your help and if you again notice an area code map I uploaded where I have made an error or the information has changed, you are cordially invited to let me know. Does it cause me more work? Absolutely, but, if I'm going to upload reference material I want to be accurate, I have to know about errors or changes. I mean, I also created and maintain the area code maps for California. Fifteen different maps that have to be updated if there is an error (it happens) or a change. The one saving grace for all the area code maps I create is that I use SVG image files, which store everything on the page as vectors, meaning in this case the change only takes about 10 seconds.
Again, thank you for your help in keeping Wikipedia accurate.
